Bridgerton Binge
This is what happens when you binge-watch the Netflix series Bridgerton whilst eating a family pack of liquorice Allsorts. I just love all those colourful costumes, outrageous wigs, corsets, undergarments, layers of silk brocade and lace. What a palaver getting dressed in the morning!
My print is a humorous take on the wonderful portraits that capture the opulence and extravagance of the era. I’m quite sure that if liquorice Allsorts were a thing at the court of Marie Antoinette, she would have definitely donned a wig like this and her famous quote may have been an altogether different thing indeed.
Confection Coiffeur
Sitting against a boudoir pink background this elegant lady is in glorious profile. Her huge powdered wig is adorned with these colourful confections, and her powdered and painted face, with of course the obligatory beauty patch, is the height of fashion and taste.
